Venue Dressing

I love attending weddings to dress the venue for my customers. It is fabulous to see their design ideas and bring their vision to life. Especially when they have their own personality shining through, but oh my goodness it is hard work!
So many people say to me ‘You are only putting out place mats and covering some chairs’ Try tying 100 bows, you dont realise how long it takes until you try it. Putting on 100 chair covers is even harder and can take some hours, especially if the chairs have been left stacked.
Some tips for my lovely brides. Don't over plan, keep things simple and allow your dresser to use their artistic skills to place items and make them look perfect. Some Brides over engineer the day which causes stress and confusion for all the staff.
Pay for a few drinks for them because it is hot thirsty work
If you are having a long wedding get them a meal or some snacks.
If you are concerned about the dressing have several meetings with your dresser and long chats, they won’t mind at all.
Introduce your dresser to your wedding planner before the event so they can arrange timings with each other and adjust expectations.
They will appreciate this no end!
